Comic Book Bears Podcast Issue #105 - The Pocket Lawyer for Comic Book Creators and NYCC 2016 Preview
Bill, Bryan and Steve are on hand this week for an extra-sized episode as they get ready for this year's New York Comic Con! First up, the CBB boys are thrilled to bring to the show Thomas A. Crowell, Esq.! Thomas is a partner with the law firm of Lane Sash & Larrabee where he counsels clients on a wide range of entertainment law and intellectual property rights issues. He is also the author of The Pocket Lawyer for Comic Book Creators, the very first dedicated legal guide for the comic book industry. The Pocket Lawyer is designed to help emerging artists and veteran professionals in the comic book industry build a solid foundation of business and communication practices and Thomas takes us through key legal issues involving protection of comic book properties. We also hear about the panels and seminars he is presenting at New York Comic Con 2016.
DISCLAIMER: Mr. Crowell’s comments should not be considered "legal advice," nor do they create an attorney-client relationship with the podcast listener.
Then we transition over to another guest joining us, our old friend Chris Cummins! CBB's own Bill and Chris will be co-hosting the Tales from the Toybox event for New York Comic Con's NYCC Presents! This multimedia evening will find Bill and Chris presenting a program about toys from the 60's to the present day which will feature many special guests and some amazing prizes and giveaways! And if that isn't enough, our own Bryan will be hosting another NYCC Presents event, Flame On! Presents - Fan Feud, which will be a fun filled game show evening! All this and some talk of a Doctor Who event (involving some familiar names) and a comic book specific Woofs of the Week segment to round the show out!

CBB Flashback - Comic Book Bears Podcast Issue 80 - Legends of Tomorrow, Opinions of Today (Originally Released January 25, 2016)
Hard to believe that DC's Legends of Tomorrow is less than a year old and about to enter its second season. Jump on the Waverider with us as we go back to January when we discussed the first episode.
Brother Justin missed our rendezvous with Rip Hunter's Waverider so in this episode Matt, Steve, Bryan and Bill are on the mic to discuss DC's Legends of Tomorrow, the new super-team show spinning out of The Flash and Arrow which premiered on The CW last week. You'll get to hear what they thought of the episode, their picks for comics featuring these characters and, being the hairy heavy homos they are, other opinions about this exceptionally woofy cast. All this plus their Woofs of the Week and hella more!

Bryan, Steve and Bill are in the CBB cave this week and we start the show off with an announcement about ... the show. (Fair warning - it just might give you a frowny face.) We then move on to hearing about Bill's time at this year's Baltimore Comic Con. After that we bring on a whole lotta comic talk with bandwidth dedicated to DC Rebirth titles (The Flash, Superman, Supergirl), Frank Cho's Skybourne, The Flintstones, Die Kitty Die, East of West, Everafter: From the Pages of Fables and a great Beatles-related graphic novel which isn't The Fifth Beatle!

All five bears are back in the CBB den this week to talk about Suicide Squad, the third movie in the DC Extended Universe series of films. The film stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis and Margot Robbie among the cast and our furry fivesome weigh in on whether Suicide Squad is a movie you should kill to see or if a neckbomb going off would be preferable. After that, the comic book talk starts with 4001 A.D.: War Mother, All-New X-Men, All-New Wolverine, Black Panther, Old Man Logan, the revival of Rom from IDW, The Vision, Darth Vader, Marvel's recent C-3PO special, Jupiter's Legacy and Superwoman each finding a berth on our spinner rack!

We are four bears (Bill, Matt, Justin and Steve) strong this week as Bryan takes the episode off. We focus mainly on the recent spate of new DC Rebirth titles including Superman, Action Comics, Wonder Woman, Batman, Detective Comics, Green Arrow, Flash, Justice League, Aquaman, Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, Titans and Batgirl and the Birds of Prey! We stray a little bit away from the DCU to discuss Prophet: Earth War, Jeff Lemire's Plutona and a little bit of classic Marvel talk about Daughters of the Dragon! (Also pay attention to the Woofs of the Week segment as it gives you a clue about what is on the docket for our next episode!)

A Flashback from 12/2014: After an extended break, Billy Z, Bryan and Justin are back on the Comic Book Bears mic with nearly two hours of comic book and geek culture talk. Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly's AMAZING Multiversity: Pax Americana is up first in the spotlight! The comic talk continues with the bears boys weighing in ODY-C #1, Matt Fraction, purple nipples, Wonder Woman, AXIS, Thor, Superior Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, the original Secret Wars, Mike Zeck, Kraven's ass, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Robert Hack, Action Comics, Superman in the New 52, comic book sales and the back issue market. They then take a non-comic detour to discuss the end of the current season of Doctor Who and the Star Wars Episode 7 teaser trailer. Then they turn on the TV to rap about what is happening on Gotham, Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash and Constantine. They wrap up as always with the Woof of the Week. Word of caution - the boys are little more potty mouthed on this ep than usual for some reason. And who or what is Havok Thanos Del Rio? Well, you'll just have to listen in to find out!!
